Who needs a fan when you have the Oregon Coast! Weather is an issue here every. single. day. I have found that if I reschedule for weather I would never work, at least not here! lol Whether it's rain or...

A place to view the latest from Cardas Photography, Wedding, Senior, Baby and Family Photography located on the beautiful Southern Oregon Coast. Serving all of Oregon, from Ashland to Portland, Bandon to Bend, Albany, Corvallis, Coos Bay, Salem and beyond!
When we plan out a Senior Session, location is usually topic number one! Autumn really wanted railroad tracks - something we just don't have in Bandon, so we decided on Downtown Coos Bay for her shoot. We had a blast...
Another beautiful Bandon High School Senior! Autumn wore the most fabulous high heels for her whole session! Autumn definitely had her "game face" on - but I managed to squeek a grin out of her. :)
Did you know you can order all kinds of cards using the images from your session with Cardas Photography? Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Valentine's, Baby announcements, Thanksgiving and LOTS more! Simply go to your proof gallery and click the "Buy" menu...
When I first saw this album I knew it needed to be added into my lineup - at the top. This is an exquisite album, destined to become a family heirloom. The case is handmade from leather and wood! The...
It's that time of year again! Just a quick reminder to my clients who currently have open galleries and print credits. I start fresh at the beginning of the year - so all online galleries close at the end of...
Shooting outdoors is a constant challenge! I shoot in the same locations often - so it's fun to me to find new and different places so everyone's photos look like their own. The other challenge is that the locations are...
A question I get asked a lot is "When should we do Senior pictures?"I think there are three trains of thought. 1) First thing in the school year, following the annual tradition of taking that "first day of school" picture...
I love love love when clients go beyond the typical print and canvas sizes. Kristy emailed me asking to use the studio credit from her wedding on a BIG canvas. I said "How big?" and she replied "It's one giant...
It was another rainy Saturday at Shore Acres State Park - I was getting flashbacks to Jen and Matt's wedding just a few weeks prior. Only this time I was just a temporary fill-in for the lovely Alison Wasson. I...
WOW!! Ok - September was a whirlwind - five weddings and a couple dozen portrait sessions had me buried there for a while! But everyone has their galleries posted - so I can get back to sharing! Lots to come!...
Another Oregon Coast Destination wedding. I love the fact that I live in a place that people want to come to as a destination. It's been a spectacular Summer, and I have met so many people from all over the...
It's that time of year again! Yay for High School Seniors! I *LOVE* my Seniors, they are SO fun, so into their sessions and enthusiastic about the year ahead. Breanna was my first Senior of the season, kicking things off...
This weekend is the 65th annual Cranberry Festival in Bandon. There are lots of great activities going on all weekend including the parade Saturday morning through Old Town, and check out the photography competition/exhibit at the Harbortown Events Center on...
Another fun family on the beach! This time visiting from California, for the first family pics with baby #3!
One of my favorite things to photograph is families. In part because it's fun, but also because for most families, it's a once every few (or many, many) years event. These photos may be the only shots they have of...
Planning a wedding isn't easy. Planning a wedding in a location in which no one you know lives within 250 miles is even harder! Monica and Brian were smart and enlisted the help of a wedding planner to help them...
It was one of those evenings on the central Oregon coast, when the light is perfect - and the fog is waiting to pounce just offshore. Brian and Monica chose Yachats for their destination wedding, coming in this day from...
The Academy Chapel in Vancouver is a stunningly beautiful location for a wedding. The natural light through the windows, the amazingly high ceilings, intricate details and the balcony so we can shoot from above make it a photographer's dream location....
It's not too early to start thinking about scheduling your Senior pictures! I am currently scheduling sessions in the Portland area for August 25th-27th and October 1st and 2nd, and along the Oregon coast for the month of September. Call,...
This is the year of the Oregon Destination wedding! I'm shooting weddings for couples coming to Oregon to get married from all over the United States! Ohio, Iowa, St. Louis, Nashville and more! Brittany and Keith win the award from...
Sometimes however, I get lucky, and get to spend an hour, an un-rushed, guilt-free hour with the happy and relaxed bride and groom after they have said their goodbyes to the wedding guests. Between the reception and their drive North to their hotel suite in Florence, I spent a rainy hour with Jenn and Matt walking around do
They say rain on your wedding day is good luck - let's hope that's true - because if it is, 2011 will be a VERY lucky year for a lot of couples out there!!
Almost every one of my couples this year is making a major move soon after the wedding. Tara is making the move to join Dusty in little Valley Falls, Oregon. Since she was leaving the Oregon Coast to move inland,...
Melanie and Tip have claimed the most popular date of 2011 - 9/10/11! I am looking forward to capturing their big day on the Northern Oregon coast. I met up with the two of them and their adorable daughters at...
I have loved these boxes since the first time I laid eyes on them! As I have said before, everything I do and offer in business is something that, as a customer, I would want myself. And this is definitely...
I was able to meet this little beauty on her three week birthday :) I joined Alice and her mom Illana for a quiet, mellow Sunday morning at their home in Portland. Alice was a perfect snuggly little girl.
As you can see - I don't shoot the traditional (stuffy) lights and backdrop sort of headshots. I prefer natural light, relaxed environment, plenty of outfits and big real smile headshots. Julie worked her signature scarves and bright red jacket perfectly and I hope these shots show her happy and outgoing personality.
When I saw Sarweshni and Jack walking towards me at the Crystal Springs Rhododendron Gardens I knew we were going to have a great time! With both of them decked out from head to toe in traditional Indian attire, it...
With High School Senior pictures we shoot a lot of sessions in the obvious (beautiful) locations around town. Old Town, The Coquille River Lighthouse, the awesome beaches, the park - but I also love it when a Senior wants to...
