This blog is about my life, for one year, at the age of 28.

Well, it’s my friend Chrissy’s birthday today, and she’s one of the most fabulous gals that I have ever had the privilege of knowing. She’s a kind, thoughtful, compassionate, loving, creative, generous, and humble. She’s the kind of friend that will drop anything in a second if you need a helpi

Lately, while driving about town during dinner time I enjoy looking through windows at kitchen or dining room tables. Usually, I will see a few tables packed with family and friends, sharing a meal, drinks, or playing a game. It’s always a brief glimpse, so don’t get nervous. I am not pulling in their driveways,

Oh wondrous day! I have a break from homework for almost a week! Here is to knitting, and cooking, and sewing, movie watching, reading, enjoying my boys and husband, and, of course, blogging. I am also hoping that I can continue lightning my hair. We’ll see just how much of this I actually get done.

I understand that the whole theme of this bloggity blog is wrapped up in the context of blogging each day, but last week made it impossible to do so. Here is what I did last week instead of blogging: Lost my wedding band. Wrote a 5 page paper. Cleaned my house. Several times. Went to [...]

So begins the long and arduous process of completing my prereq’s for nursing school. I have 6 classes left, and they are mostly the difficult ones. I am hoping to begin them in the fall here at a local OR/WA college. If you have any recommendations I’d be glad to hear them, for both the [...]

Free comic book day! And if you don’t want to hear this announcement from me, well, maybe Kevin Smith can convince you to go out and get one yourself, or one for your kiddos!

In the fiction book I am currently reading, the hero gets to a certain point where he hits his groove. He becomes one with his element, the ocean, and he feels at home. He can sense things before they happen, control factors that change his course, and know the unknowable, simply by concentrating on what [...]

I took my first yoga class today, outside of doing specific prenatal yoga. The instructor’s name is Willow, and she is incredible. She can do things with breathing and her belly that I never thought possible! I think by the fact that I was sore right after the hour session is only a sign that [...]

I wrote a paper all day today about the sign miracles of Jesus in the book John from the New Testament. I am pretty spent, so I am not going to try and write tonight, besides both boys are having a horrible time going to sleep. We’ve put Xander in his bed about 50 times, [...]

I was in magnificent Powell’s today, picking up a cookbook, and I came across this little number: make your place: affordable, sustainable nesting skills. It’s only 7 bucks, so just go pick it up (if you order online through the publishers website it’s 5 bucks!)! It has tips, recipes, and helpful hints for

My Mom came into town yesterday, so if I have been quiet the last two days, it is because I have been out and about with her and the boys. We went to the wonderful Vancouver Farmer’s Market yesterday and got some fresh rhubarb to make a pie, bright orange tulips with flecks of yellow, [...]

Time to check in with our friends on good old BH 90210. We just finished the episode where Dylan finds out he has a half-sister, Erika, and David breaks up with Donna because of her no-sex rule. Andrea goes to a midnight Catholic mass with her new boyfriend Jesse, and the Walshes’ plane has mechanical [...]

Hooray Hooray! It’s spring, and one of the best parts of the season is fresh asparagus. Two things have made my asparagus night fantastic. #1: Animal Vegetable Miracle, by Barbara Kingsolver has a whole chapter, “waiting for asparagus” about how this is the vegetable that introduces the season of plenty. You will be watching this, because, well, let’s face it: Nothing is better on a Tuesday night. What? You didn’t watch it on tv. Well get to hulu, folks. Mandatory, pronto. It’s glee season!

Life Unexpected is a great show, and yes, I ‘ve blogged about it before. It is hard to believe that the season finale is already here, and I hope they pick up the show for a second season. I am attached to the characters and themes, and I want to follow Lux’s story, and find [...]

How in the world am I going to keep blogging when at 7:50 pm I cannot keep my eyes open? Maybe this is just a random occurrence, because I am not usually so tired. Today, Tarver and I spent the entire afternoon rearranging the bedrooms so Kinsey’s crib is in our room. I am sad to [...]

No. In case you are wondering, I am not. I am just realizing that there are more important things in my day than blogging, like making sure I sleep, get my homework done, while taking care of the boys. I feel like I have been pounding this mantra out over the last few posts, but [...]

So is anyone else in the Portland area ready for a little bit warmer weather? I can handle the rain, and I am perfectly able to handle a little cloudy weather, but for goodness sake…I need some warmer temperatures! I want short sleeves, and no coats for the boys. I want windows down and sunglasses. I want Popsicles [.

When I survey the wondrous cross On which the Prince of glory died My richest gain I count but loss And pour contempt on all my pride Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast Save in the death of Christ my God All the vain things that charm me most I sacrifice them to his blood See from his head, his hands, his [...]

So it just dawned on me while driving home from whole foods this afternoon that I have not blogged in two days. Woops! Total accident. My mind has been elsewhere, and I am sorry. I am not going to blog three times today to make up for it. However, I will try to make this [...]

What a few days it has been. Tarv has been ill… with some mysterious allergic reaction nonsense that has left him feeling really crappy. The boys have colds, and Kinsey is teething. Me? Well, I am just trying to deal. I have been in a pretty crappy mood, no thanks to the lack of sleep, [...]
